Watching 3D Movies at Home

You can now affordably watch high quality 3D video at home with real 3D glasses (not the flimsy red-blue type). With the new "3D-Ready" TV's and projectors you can watch high definition stereoscopic video that is at least as good or better quality as what you see at commercial 3D theaters.

For watching true-3D in HD at home you will need:
  • A "3D-Ready" HDTV, 3D-compatible DLP projector or computer monitor
  • A Windows PC connected to your 3D-compatible TV or monitor
  • 3D glasses, like the ones sold here, with a 3D "transmitter"
  • 3D playback software on your PC
For details on setting up your own "3D-IMAX" home theater see our 3D-TV Guide. For those wanting to watch 3D with a DLP projector we have tips here.

Industry experts are forecasting a wave of new content for owners of 3D home theaters. When new Hollywood titles and sporting events come out in true-3D format this year you can expect a run on 3D glasses! In the meantime there is plenty of good 3D available to watch, so why not beat the crowd and set up your 3D home theater now?

3DFlightSim at Chinese Science Symposium

Our Long Range Stereo Projection Emitters were used at the IXth International Meeting on Cholinesterases this May in Suzhou, China. Presentations by internationally recognized protein crystallographers used our equipment to show 3D projections of molecular imaging. 50 or more attendees, all wearing 3D shutter glasses, attended presentations held in a 26 by 43 foot conference room. Presenters report that our equipment worked flawlessly: "Every inch of the room was covered by good quality, flicker-less stereo signal." Other professional venues using our emitters include university classrooms, museums, cinema studios and theaters.

Affordable 3D glasses for both small and large audiences

The price of typical consumer 3D glasses start at $200 per pair or more. Commercial 3D glasses for engineering and research firms can cost $600 and more. Compare these prices with our selection, which starts at $29.95 each! Now affordable shutter glasses can be used for classroom, theater and convention sized audiences.

3DFlightSim on Tom's Hardware

Tom's Hardware Guide shows how to use our Stereo Projection Converter to build "The Ultimate Gaming Room." Don Woligrowski's article gives detailed instructions on how to use a DLP projector and gaming PC to turn your game room into a 3D, virtual reality " Holodeck." Don also reviews the 3D performance of several popular PC video games on the system. Most PC video games produce stunning 3D graphics with a DLP projector!
